"The Prophet Said....

To Plant a garden, so that's what we did! Here are the first lings of the field! So, whats a girl to do with all the harvest? Here's my first idea:
Grandma Rosie’s Zucchini Bread

1 Cup Crisco (I like Butter flavored)
2 Cups Sugar 2 t. Cinnamon
3 Eggs 1 t. Soda
2 Cups Shredded Zucchini
½ Cup Nuts (optional) ½ t. Baking Powder
3 Cups Flour 1 t. Salt

Blend Crisco and Sugar together until creamy.
Beat Eggs in and add Zucchini.
Sift dry ingredients together, add to wet.
Mix. Grease & flour 2 large loaf pans.
Bake @ 325 for 1 hour. Yummy every time!
PS- if you have any great zucchini recipes, send them my way! I would love to try them and post my findings!

"Wrapped Around Your Finger"

In Celebration of 9 Happy Years Together,

The Police Treated us with their amazing musical talents!

Under the "invisible sun" we rocked out singing "De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da" with help from Kurt & Natalie (Kelly's brother and sister-in-law) and 15,000 others, some of whom we wanted to say: "Don't Stand So Close To Me". Kelly reminded me that "Every little thing I (she) does is Magic" and I confessed that I am still "Wrapped Around Your Finger". We both said we just "Can't Stand Losing You" and pledged to continue our love for each other in "Every Breath You (We) Take". And if there should ever be a time in our marriage that we need to rekindle the flame, we will send out an "SOS" right away and run to the nearest Police Concert!

All silliness aside, Kel and I absolutely loved the concert! They treated us with all of their hits and a few more. It was a beautiful evening under the stars and proved to be a wonderful way to celebrate our anniversary. The celebration will continue next weekend as we fly off to a coastal town on a well needed weekend away!

"Now I'm Really Big"

The beginning

The middle

The End!

As of July 1st (it's year-round people), our Elizabeth completed Kindergarten with flying colors!
Here are a few things I learned this year:
1- Allowing children to choose their own outfit isn't as bad as I thought (even when they put red sparkle shoes on with lime green socks).

2- A hot-pocket is a nutritious lunch.

3- All kids pick their nose...publicly.

4- It isn't the worst thing in the entire world if a child is late to school once in awhile.

5- The letter "T" makes a Tttt sound, as opposed to a "Ta" sound as I was doing.

I loved sharing a part in Lizzy's kindergarten experience. Thankfully it was a positive one and has made her excited for first grade!
