Time Best Spent

November 2011:
Kel- Maybe we should take the kids to Hawaii with us
Sar- Really?
Kel- I think it would be a blast!
Sar- It would, but.....what about laying on the beach all day reading......
Kel- They are growing up so fast, they are only young once, let's go enjoy them!
And ENJOY them we did! I never grew tired of watching them play together. I enjoyed beach time, hikes, sunrises, swimming and time with my parents and brother more than I ever thought I would. Kauai brought our family endless joy, Lizzy summed it up by commenting "Kauai is the coolest place I have ever been to in my life Mom". Way to call it Kel, you were right, again.

Hi, My Name is Sarah, {part 2}

Besides completely loving this guy, we also:
Had a summer for night games, they were thrilling. And may I just mention that no one ever found my super sneaky hiding place...nope, no one including Mr. Stealth himself.
We also worked hard on our diving skills....
still working.
Kelly & his partners built a new medical office, it's awesome. The process was long and at times extremely frustrating. But, in the end, his new office is tops...you should go check it out.
For their Grand Opening, the clinic hosted a successful Health Fair, complete with a 5k Run. Yes, local celebrities were there. Lizzy helped her Dad run his booth, and took her job very seriously.
We spent time enjoying our Beautiful Mountains.
It's safe to say, our kids are campers....to their mother's chagrin.

And of course, Summer would not be complete without a trip up north. Riding rides with our cousins proved to be a winner, again and again and again...

Coming soon, September.

Powell Power

Dear Nana,

I really liked Lake Powell much better when you did all the work. I didn't appreciate all the hours you spent creating the perfect menu, shopping for all the essentials (and non essentials), packing, cleaning and preparing when we were young. Thanks! Because of all of those fun memories, now the next generation is enjoying your family's tradition. It's awesome! You and Dad made it possible for Lizzy and Rosie to learn to water ski (kind of), for Max to enjoy the tube and for Baby D to eat sand on the muddy beach. I watched and learned how to prepare the family for the Powell adventure and it was so fun this year. I'm just saying that it was way more relaxing with you running the whole show.

Love,

Sarah

Who's The Man?

Yes, Baby Drew turned ONE! When he woke up that morning, he seemed to know it was his special day. At his birthday party, he wanted one thing, and one thing only: a ball, given to him by his cousin Emily. He cried when we made him stop chasing the ball around yard for the candle blow. Drew is a man who enjoys simple things in life: a ball, wrapping paper, grass and frosting. He did however appreciate the one year movie his father created for him, pointing and laughing at the television screen. What are his accomplishments to date you might ask? Simply put, Drew is our sunshine; his sweetness overwhelms us and we feel so blessed. This last year has been delightful with his presence. Never have we had such an easy baby! Happy Birthday to our Baby Drew, we "LOVE YOU SO BAD" (Rosie)!

9 reasons to celebrate

Dear Lizzy D.,
So, you are pretty cool. I mean really, for a 9 year old, you have style (you are starting to choose all of your own outfits), class (you are #1 at manners), smarts (check you out with the mastering of your times tables), and a mean wii sword fighting swing. You now know more ballet moves than me and it showed in your role as Royal Page in Sleeping Beauty. Your sweetness and sensitivity to others is an example to me. I love your giggle, the silly side of you is showing up more and more these days, I hope it stays. You still love to hang with your family, but, have lots of friends. Yep, from how I see it, you have achieved coolness. Congratulations, my super cool 9 year old birthday girl.

Love,
Your Mom.
