Powell Power

Dear Nana,

I really liked Lake Powell much better when you did all the work. I didn't appreciate all the hours you spent creating the perfect menu, shopping for all the essentials (and non essentials), packing, cleaning and preparing when we were young. Thanks! Because of all of those fun memories, now the next generation is enjoying your family's tradition. It's awesome! You and Dad made it possible for Lizzy and Rosie to learn to water ski (kind of), for Max to enjoy the tube and for Baby D to eat sand on the muddy beach. I watched and learned how to prepare the family for the Powell adventure and it was so fun this year. I'm just saying that it was way more relaxing with you running the whole show.

Love,

Sarah

Who's The Man?

Yes, Baby Drew turned ONE! When he woke up that morning, he seemed to know it was his special day. At his birthday party, he wanted one thing, and one thing only: a ball, given to him by his cousin Emily. He cried when we made him stop chasing the ball around yard for the candle blow. Drew is a man who enjoys simple things in life: a ball, wrapping paper, grass and frosting. He did however appreciate the one year movie his father created for him, pointing and laughing at the television screen. What are his accomplishments to date you might ask? Simply put, Drew is our sunshine; his sweetness overwhelms us and we feel so blessed. This last year has been delightful with his presence. Never have we had such an easy baby! Happy Birthday to our Baby Drew, we "LOVE YOU SO BAD" (Rosie)!

9 reasons to celebrate

Dear Lizzy D.,
So, you are pretty cool. I mean really, for a 9 year old, you have style (you are starting to choose all of your own outfits), class (you are #1 at manners), smarts (check you out with the mastering of your times tables), and a mean wii sword fighting swing. You now know more ballet moves than me and it showed in your role as Royal Page in Sleeping Beauty. Your sweetness and sensitivity to others is an example to me. I love your giggle, the silly side of you is showing up more and more these days, I hope it stays. You still love to hang with your family, but, have lots of friends. Yep, from how I see it, you have achieved coolness. Congratulations, my super cool 9 year old birthday girl.

Love,
Your Mom.

So This Is Love

It was one of those trips that you want to do over and over. Spring Break was spent down South, where the weather was perfect, the pool was warm, the food delicious and the friends unbeatable! We road tripped with our friends the Evans, and let me tell you, they know how to have a good time. Our children love their kids, I mean really love them. Their 3 and our 3 played contently the entire time, while baby D made friends with Shad. It was more relaxing then I originally anticipated. Amy and I enjoyed warm afternoons by the pool soaking up the much needed Vitamin D. Shad and Amy know the lay of the land pretty well and we were happy to have them as our tour guides. Thanks Evans for a fabulous trip, we are all ready for round 2!

Time after Time

Thanks again to Nana; Kelly and I snuck away to Air-a-Zion (as our above friends lovingly refer to Arizona). Not only were we spoiled by warm weather and sunshine, but also by the warmth of our dear old friends. Eight years have passed since we have seen some of our friends from San Fran, but, it's as if we hung out with them last week. It was delightful to catch up with favorite friends, fabulous shopping and some much needed rest. Just like old times, these pals kept us laughing and fed us Scottsdale's best. We can't wait to come back to the desert, it is truly becoming one of our favorite 'hot spots'.

Fluffing My Nest

Kelly and I had that age old question:

"To Move or Not to Move" do we sell now or wait for a time and update. The votes are in, and by the looks of the pictures, you should be able to safely guess what we picked.
